Evan Nisselson – Digital Railroad shuts down. $15 million in smoke

Evan Nisselson, founder and CEO of Digital Railroad, was forced to suspend operations. He had received $15.2 million from venture firms Morgenthaler Ventures and Venrock Associates, and DN Capital. Digital Railroad is a platform which allows photo agencies to showcase their work and bring it to professional buyers.

Additional rounds will be challenging for a number of other start-ups. More failures to come.

I interviewed Evan in september 2007.
