– 525,000 iPhones sold in the first weekend since the iPhone launched on Friday June 29th, 2007.
– Half of Apple’s stores on the US west coast sold out on the first day
– AT&T is the exclusive U.S. service provider for iPhone until 2009. Customers sign up to a two-year contract(up to $600) in order to buy the phone
– 24h to 48h activation delay with ATT due to overwhelming demand
– 47 percent of polled consumers (Expo TV)will wait at least 12 months for Apple to “work out the bugs,”
expected volume by end 2008 : 10 million iPhones (1% share of the mobile phone market)
– expected annual sales according to Steve Jobs amount to $10bn, ranking third after the iPod and the Mac computer
– in spite of high resell prices, iPhone on ebay is a buyers’market : on monday July 2nd, 2,600 iPhones sold for an average price of $775.03. The highest selling price was $12,500
